F.A.Q.

To start your design proposal, please fill out the form on my bookings page, and include clear reference images showing what you’re envisioning. Feel free to note specific details like placement or favorite elements. Keep in mind, my style is unique and I maintain my own approach across all designs. If you have existing tattoos that impact the design, provide well-lit photos. I take great care in designing tattoos that flow with your body, so please choose references that closely match your ideas for the best outcome.

I will text you and give you a link to schedule a time for a video consultation. You will be emailed a google reminder for our video call and this will have the link to join our call. I will be using Google Meets to host our call.

During our video consultation, we can talk about all the details regarding your design and appointment. If both of us feel ready, we will schedule a date for your tattoo.

Once you have been texted from my assistant, you will be sent a link to choose a time for our video call.

During our call, I will share my iPad screen so you may see the notes I take. I use photos that you submit to draw on top of your body. This is a unique way to understand a basic composition of the tattoo by the end of the meeting.

I will text you a picture of my notes once the meeting is over so you may sit with what we have discussed.

The number my booking assistant and I use is my business number. Feel free to text me any questions you have regarding your upcoming appointment.

At Midnight tattoo, we require that clients be either fully vaccinated by the time of the appointment, or able to show a negative covid test taken within 48 hours of the appointment. This is to protect one of our artists who is immunocompromised.

I have COVID test that can be purchased if needed.

I charge a *non-refundable $60, $100, or $200 fee for drawing and for our video call time, depending on estimated drawing time & size and detail of the design. This payment does not go towards the tattoo.

During the appointment, I charge $200 per hour of tattooing time, which does not include any breaks we may take. Strictly time getting tattooed.

My minimum is $300. If you plan to get tiny tattoos, we can plan a few so you get your money’s worth.

*the drawing fee is non-refundable, be sure to be committed by the end of the video consultation.

I accept and prefer cash for the tattoo appointment, Zelle and Paypal are acceptable when leaving a deposit. Deposit/Drawing Fee can be sent to  chasfindley@gmail.com or bookings@chasfindley.com

Be sure to leave a memo attached to payment blank, or simple emoji.

I will send out an outline plan of the tattoo design the night before.

I will text you a consent from via text the day before our appointment as well as specific instructions on how to get to Midnight once you are at the entrance of the Ford Building.

Eat a nutritious meal before the appointment. Bring a water bottle with you and stay hydrated. Wear clothing that allows easy access to the area that is being tattooed and try not to wear white. I also recommend not wearing your favorite articles of clothing or anything expensive, as ink will permanently stain and little splatters are not uncommon. You may also bring a CLEAN (freshly washed) pillow and/or blanket to be as cozy as possible! It can get chilly when laying still for long periods of time.

Moisturizing the area the week before the appointment can really make a difference in the result of the tattoo, especially if you have dry skin. (This is very common with hands and wrists).

Podcasts, headphones, books etc. are also welcome to help pass the time!

2505 SE 11th Avenue, Portland OR 97202

A map is provided for your convience at the bottom of this page.

The studio is located on the intersection of SE 11th and Division. There is street parking surrounding the building, but it can get scarce depending on the day. There are also a few paid lots nearby. They do ticket very aggressively, so please make sure you are reading all the signs and giving yourself 10-15 minutes to find parking. The main entrance to the building is on 11th Avenue next to Shoofly Bakery.

Once you arrive at the front doors to the Ford Building, use the buzzer and call Midnight. After entering the front lobby, you will see an art gallery. Take the stairs in the left corner to the third story. Once upstairs, walk west/left down the hallway to the other side of the building. After passing the bathrooms, you will find a door that will read MIDNIGHT. Just knock once you arrive and we can let you in.

There is also an elevator available if you take the ramp down into the gallery and turn right. Once on the 3rd floor, you would turn right as you’re leaving the elevator and head west/right, down the hall to the entrance.

I ask that you come alone to your appointment.

This is our dedicated time, and honestly, I will work faster if it is just you and I.

Depending on how your tattoo is bandaged, the aftercare will vary slightly.

*While using new products on your healing tattoo, be mindful of stinging or burning sensations. If this is the case, rinse and clean the tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap and water.

Regular Bandage:

You will take the bandage off a few hours after receiving it (sleeping with it on is okay in certain cases. I advise taking the bandage off in a warm shower the following morning, slowly, to prevent damage to the tattoo). Immediately, clean the tattoo and surrounding area with unscented, antibacterial soap and warm water. No soap bars. Clean off all excess ink, plasma, and blood. Be thorough, make it squeaky clean. Pat the area dry with a clean towel.

The following 2 or more weeks, continue to clean the tattoo consistently, and pay extra mind in keeping it away from dirty surfaces, animals, etc. If you get it dirty, clean it immediately. 1 to 4 days after the session, the tattooed skin will begin feeling tight, perhaps itchy. This is your body telling you it’s time for you to moisturize the tattoo. I recommend unscented lotion – be cautious, you only need a light amount, enough to satisfy the tightness & itchiness. Apply lotion 3 to 4 times a day.

During the healing process, keep the tattooed area out of the sun and do not soak in water (10 minute or less showers okay, but no pools, hot tubs, rivers, etc.)

2nd Skin Bandage:

This type of bandage is a clear barrier that acts as a second skin.

Upon request, I can use a special bandage that you can keep on for 24 hours. You will take it off under warm running water and clean it with unscented, antibacterial soap. Pat dry with a clean towel, and let it air dry for 15 minutes afterward.

If I have given you another bandage of the same size to apply yourself, this will be the time. Peel off the white side, and apply the sticky side to the tattoo area. Once on the skin, look for a corner to peel off the transparent harder plastic side of the bandage. This bandage can be kept on up to a week.
Take it off the same way as described above and begin cleaning it and moisturizing it twice a day until the skin is fully healed.

While letting your tattoos heal, it is advised to take care of yourself by eating nutritious foods, getting adequate sleep, and drinking plenty of water.

You are welcome to reach out to me with concerns, but if your tattoo is healing poorly, it is advised to seek professional medical help.
