F.A.Q.
How do I book an appointment?
To book a tattoo with me, please fill out the form on my bookings page.
Once I review your submission, I’ll text you from my work number with a link to schedule a video consultation via Google Meet. You’ll receive an email reminder for our call, including the link to join. I’ll also send a text with the link at the meeting time.
What happens during a video consultation?
During our call, I’ll share my iPad screen so you can see the notes I take. I use the photos you submit to sketch directly on your body, providing a clear visualization of the basic composition by the end of our meeting.
After the meeting, I’ll text you a picture of my notes so you can reflect on our discussion.
We’ll also discuss estimates for time and cost. Once we agree on the details, we can schedule your session.
What is your pricing?
During our video consultations, after discussing the details of your custom piece, I will give you a estimate of how much your tattoo will cost.
I always ask for a deposit of $100. This should be sent via Venmo, right after our video call. Venmo is @chasfindley
How can I pay?
I prefer cash for the tattoo appointment when possible, Venmo is also acceptable.
When paying the deposit, please send using Venmo.

When can I see my design?
I will send out an outline plan of the tattoo design the night before.
How can I prepare for the appointment?
I will text you a consent form the day before our appointment, along with specific instructions for reaching Midnight once you arrive at the Ford Building entrance.
Please eat a nutritious meal before your appointment and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Wear clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area, and avoid wearing white. I also recommend not wearing your favorite or expensive clothing, as ink can permanently stain and little splatters are not uncommon. Feel free to bring a clean (freshly washed) pillow and/or blanket to stay cozy, as it can get chilly when lying still for long periods.
Moisturizing and lightly exfoliating the area to be tattooed for a week prior can significantly improve the outcome, especially if you have dry skin.
You’re welcome to bring podcasts, headphones, books, etc., to help pass the time!
Where are you located? Is there parking?
2505 SE 11th Avenue, Portland, OR 97202
A map for your convenience is provided at the bottom of this page.
The studio is located at the intersection of SE 11th and Division. Street parking is available around the building, but it can be limited depending on the day. There are also a few nearby paid lots, but be aware that they issue tickets aggressively. Please take a moment to read all parking signs and allow 10-15 minutes to find a spot. The main entrance to the building is on 11th Avenue, next to Shoofly Bakery.
Upon arriving at the front doors of the Ford Building, use the buzzer to call for Midnight. After entering the lobby, you’ll see an art gallery. Take the stairs in the left corner to the third floor, once upstairs, walk left down the hallway. There is also an elevator. To access it, take the ramp down further into the gallery and turn right. Once on the third floor, turn right as you exit the elevator and head down the hall to the entrance. After passing the bathrooms and a water station, you’ll find a door labeled “MIDNIGHT.”
Welcome!
Can I bring a someone?
Please attend your appointment alone to fully immerse yourself in this experience. If necessary, one or two others may accompany you, but kindly inform me beforehand, as space in the studio is limited.
Tattoo Aftercare
Aftercare for your tattoo may vary slightly, depending on the type of bandage used.
*When using new products on your healing tattoo, be aware of any stinging or burning sensations. If this occurs, rinse and clean the tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap and water.
Regular Bandage:
Remove the bandage a few hours after your session (sleeping with it on is acceptable in some cases, but I recommend removing it during a warm shower the following morning. This will help avoid damaging the tattoo). Once the bandage is off, immediately clean the tattoo and surrounding area with unscented antibacterial soap and warm water—avoid using soap bars. Be thorough and remove all excess ink, plasma, and blood, ensuring the area is squeaky clean. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel.
For the next 2 weeks or more, continue to clean the tattoo consistently. Take special care to keep it away from dirty surfaces, animals, or anything that might cause contamination. If it gets dirty, clean it immediately. Within 1 to 4 days after the session, the tattooed skin may start feeling tight or itchy—this is a sign that it’s time to moisturize. Use an unscented lotion, applying a light amount to relieve the tightness and itchiness. Apply lotion 3 to 4 times daily.
During the healing process, keep the tattooed area out of direct sunlight, and avoid soaking it in water (showers are fine if limited to 10 minutes or less, but avoid pools, hot tubs, rivers, etc.).
2nd Skin Bandage:
This clear bandage acts as a protective second skin.
If requested, I can apply this special bandage, which you can keep on for 24 hours. After this time, remove it under warm running water and clean the tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap. Pat it dry with a clean towel, and let it air dry for 15 minutes.
If I’ve provided you with an additional bandage of the same type, this is the time to apply it. Peel off the white side and apply the sticky side to the tattooed area. Once it’s on the skin, peel off the transparent, harder plastic layer from a corner. This bandage can be left on for up to a week. Remove it the same way as described above, then begin cleaning and moisturizing the tattoo twice a day until the skin is fully healed.
General Care Tips:
During the healing process, take care of yourself by eating nutritious foods, getting adequate sleep, and staying hydrated.
Feel free to reach out to me with any concerns. However, if your tattoo appears to be healing poorly, it’s advisable to seek professional medical assistance.
Do you offer touch ups?
Touch-up policies vary:
For most tattoo touch ups, I offer a free touch-up within the first year.
Areas like fingers, ears, face, and neck are more prone to ink fading or falling out. I charge $100 per touch-up session for these spots, with the price potentially increasing based on the extent of the work needed.
If you wish to add to an existing tattoo I’ve done and consider it a touch-up, this would be considered elective work. In such cases, my standard rate of $200 per hour will apply.
How can I contact you?
If you’re interested in a new tattoo, please visit my bookings page and submit your idea.
If needed, you can reach me at my email, chasfindley@gmail.com.
Once we begin the tattoo process, I’ll communicate with you via my business phone number. Please use this number for any matters related to your current project.
I will respond to Instagram DMs as my schedule permits.
Do you do cover ups / know about laser removal?
When discussing cover-ups, I often recommend laser tattoo removal. Even a single laser session can significantly lighten the tattoo, providing both the artist and client with more options. While I do take on cover-up work, my black and gray style may not always be the best choice, as the existing tattoo can sometimes show through.
I highly recommend Removery for laser tattoo removal. They have a location in Portland, as well as many others across the U.S. I’ve personally used their services multiple times and have been very impressed with their practice.
